About Total Asbestos Control
TAC Ltd, trading as Total Asbestos Control, was established with a clear focus: to deliver safe, compliant asbestos removal to the highest professional standards. We hold a current asbestos removal licence issued by the HSE and are proud members of ARCA, widely recognised as a leading benchmark for the asbestos removal industry.
As ARCA members, we are committed to maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and site practice, supported by regular independent audits and site inspections.
Our Managing Director, Stephen Winterbottom, has more than 25 years’ experience in the asbestos removal and management industry. Having started as an asbestos removal operative in 1999, Stephen progressed through supervisory and contract management roles before moving into senior leadership.
This hands-on background gives TAC a practical understanding of asbestos removal at every level — from site operations and workforce management to client communication, commercial planning and health and safety leadership. Stephen’s Tech IOSH membership further supports TAC’s proactive approach to health and safety across every project.
Our experience spans large multi-site operations, heritage buildings, difficult-access works, healthcare environments and projects where asbestos removal must be carefully planned around ongoing day-to-day operations. TAC also undertakes private domestic asbestos removal work, offering the same standards of care and compliance to homeowners as to commercial and industrial clients.
Our strength lies in our people. Many of our site team have worked together for years, bringing more than 100 years of combined industry experience. This continuity supports strong communication, consistent standards and safe, efficient project delivery.
